Introducing
Dave Hough
Dave Hough is the National Operations Manager with the Interchurch Council for Hospital Chaplaincy (ICHC). He initially gained a Bachelor of Physical Education at the University of Otago and subsequently worked in the Fitness Industry. Following theological training and ordination with the Apostolic Church (Now ACTS Churches NZ) he and his wife Lyn pastored in Wellington, then Christchurch and Nelson.
Since leaving pastoral ministry in 2003 Dave has worked in Mental Health Promotion, Suicide Prevention, and Quality Management. He completed a certificate of proficiency in Suicidal Behaviours, Research and Prevention; University of Otago. Dave was privileged to attend two World Suicide Prevention Conferences and present at one. He and Lyn returned to New Zealand in October 2019 after three years of “wonderful adventures” living in the UK, which was sparked by a desire to spend a season living closer to his biological family in Denmark.
He has extensive involvement in gymnastics as a former gymnast, coach, and judge but now his spare time is spent painting (www.huffypaintnz.com) or running if he isn’t designing and playing board games. Dave and Lyn have two adult children and two grandchildren.
